YMCA Director (and Rotarian) Michelle Schumacher says: "This is the third time we are awarding an area resident for a lifetime of service to our community."

A wonderful example of vocational service. A retired Franklin Academy principal, a Paul Harris Fellow, an Eagle Scout, a retired veteran of the US Army Calvary (he served during the Korean War), a Polo player and a world-class marksman, Jack has served the community of Malone well. Jack volunteered at the VIC for 20 years where he did a little bit of everything, including guiding many student visits. It was not unusual for him to sometimes do three school tours a day. Jack still volunteers with the Backpack program, which packs food for local children, and at Alice Hyde Hospital.

All are encouraged to attend a cocktail hour in Jack's honor at Donovan's Steak and Ale on November 1st at 5PM. Delicious appetizers will be served. A $20.00 donation is suggested for the 2013 Jack Hinmann YMCA scholarship fund which will be used to grant deserving children access to the YMCA.
